Ray Revenaugh Passes the Torch
By now, most of you know about the recent passing of our President, Ray Revenaugh. On May 29, 2008, Ray passed away from a heart attack while on a bike ride with his sister and her boyfriend. He was doing something he enjoyed and was happy. We miss Ray very much, but we know he is with our Savior. On behalf of his wife Dianne, his children Brandi and Jeff, and the Accountability staff, we want to thank you for your kind words of support, prayers, cards and flowers. As Ray's partner at Accountability, the torch has been passed on to me. I will continue to run Accountability striving to keep that personal touch Ray emulated. God has sent so many great people to help us out during this transition. Do take a moment to read our tribute to Ray, and sign the guestbook.
Garry Poliakon joins the staff
We now have two Garys working at Accountability: Gary Steichen, who returned to Accountability in March 2008, and Garry Poliakon who joined the team in June 2008. We refer to them as Gary S and Garry P. Garry P, who has worked in several CPA offices, was referred to us by a client when she heard of Ray's passing. Since Ray's passing, I prayed for God to send someone to help pick up the work load. Garry has earned his BA and has passed two of the four parts of the CPA exam. He is currently awaiting the results of the third part. Garry has proven to be a very big asset, working in both the tax preparation and accounting departments.

W-4 Calculations
Has your financial situation changed this year? Are you concerned that you may owe the IRS and/or the Franchise Tax Board at the end of the year? Has your income decreased and you think you need to change your withholdings, but you don't know what you should change it to? Call our office and set up an appointment to have us do a W-4 calculation. We will input your current paycheck information to determine what you should be claiming on your W-4.
Book Resource: Finding market value of non-cash donations
When a non-cash donation is made to a non-profit organization, the one question that everyone asks is "how much can I deduct for the non-cash items I donated?" We have found a book called "Deduct It! Deduct It!" that provides a fair market value for a wide variety of items that are accepted by the IRS. We have a few of these books available at our office for $13.00 plus tax and shipping. Call our office to order your copy.
Accounting Department News
Vikki Riddle-Cox has been promoted to Accounting Department Manager. Vikki has been with Accountability since 2007. This will allow Karen time to focus on the software sales and support that Ray Revenaugh was overseeing. Vikki has her BS majoring in Accounting and has experience with various business entities from small business to corporation, partnerships, government accounting and non-profit accounting. Karen will still be involved with the accounting department and will review all clients financial reports before they are given to the clients.
Desiree Mena was also given a promotion. She is now our Office Manager. Desiree will be responsible for the day–to–day operations of the office. She will continue to do client accounting and manage the seasonal tax staff at tax time.
Accountability is blessed to have such a wonderful staff that cares about our clients.
To Move,or Not to Move?
As many of you know Ray, and I put a deposit on a new office building across the street from the Ontario Mills almost two years ago. We were in the middle of negotiations with a prospective tenant for part of the building when Ray passed away. Since that time many people have been praying for God's will to be made known to us regarding this transaction. As of Friday June 27, 2008, a decision was made not to move. We will remain at our Chino location.
